Suburban scam artist gave Ice-T $80K, official says

Investigators in Illinois say a convicted suburban Chicago scam artist spent his ill-gotten gains on a sprawling mansion, expensive cars and even a club appearance by rapper Ice-T.

Illinois Secretary of State's investigator Bill Harmening testified Thursday that Ice-T was paid $80,000 to perform at a 2006 event with Eric Jaglicic, an aspiring rapper who performed under the name "Blaxican."

Jaglicic pleaded guilty in March to charges that he and accomplice Brian Falatovich scammed $1.2 million out of investors who thought they were financing a movie.

Falatovich was sentenced Thursday to two years for forgery and obstruction of justice.

Ice T's manager, Jorge Hinosa, confirmed that the rapper attended the event but wouldn't say if he'd been paid.
