Barrington
• Joseph S. Radice, 17, 333 Wethington Drive, Wauconda, and Michael D. LeClaire, 17, 403 Grand Blvd., Wauconda, were arrested around 1:45 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Metra depot, 201 S. Spring St., and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor, police said. Their Rolling Meadows court date was set for Dec. 1.
• Vandals knocked over a wooden mailbox post between 8:30 and 10 p.m. Oct. 16 at a home on the 200 block of North Valley Road, police said. Damage was estimated at $250.
• Vandals set dog feces on fire in a plastic kettle and sprayed red paint on a gas lamp and mailbox at 10:45 p.m. Oct. 14 at a home on the 400 block of North Valley Road, police said. A damage estimate was not available. According to reports, a male resident heard the door bell, looked out his bedroom window and saw a person walk from his house, get into a SUV parked across the street and drive north on Valley Road.
Inverness
• Burglars stole 71 Buffalo nickels (1913-1938) between June and Oct. 12 when the male victim moved from a home on the 100 block of Braymore Court to a home on the 1700 block of Braymore Drive, police said. Value was estimated at $3 million.
• Burglars stole two figurines, jewelry, a set of silverware, lace tablecloth, and magnifying glass between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Oct. 17 out of the master bedroom, living room and dining room in a home on the 1500 block of Shire Circle, police said. Value of the figurines and tablecloth was estimated at $1,100; a value estimate for the other missing items was not available. According to reports, there was no sign of forced entry, but a lower-level patio door was unlocked.
• Burglars pried the front door and rear sliding door between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 17 but apparently did not get inside a townhouse on the 1300 block of Shire Circle, police said. A damage estimate was not available.
• Burglars removed the door key from a lockbox and stole Christmas lights and assorted personal property Oct. 14 or 15 out of the basement of a home for sale on the 800 block of Chimney Rock Street, police said. A value estimate was not available.
Palatine
• Giancarlo Enriquez. Torres, 17, 4330 Rock Cove Drive, Hoffman Estates, was arrested Oct. 21 and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana after an officer saw him smoking on a sidewalk on the 700 block of South Middleton Avenue and found marijuana and cigarettes in his pockets, police said. A court date was not available.
• Burglars smashed the front passenger's-side window and stole a GPS unit between 9 and 10:50 p.m. Oct. 21 out of a 2008 Ford Econoline van parked in a sports bar lot in the 1600 block of North Rand Road, police said. Value was estimated at $150.
• Vandals poured a caustic brown liquid on the tailgate of a 1997 Ford Explorer and a 1999 Ford Expedition between 9:30 p.m. Oct. 20 and 5:30 a.m. Oct. 21 on the 2100 block of Ginger Creek Drive and 2100 block of Ginger Circle, police said. The paint blistered and peeled on both SUVs, reports added. Damage estimates were not available.
