Former judge likes Golden
Having had the privilege to serve as a judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit Court for 22 of the last 24 years, I have considerable concern about the current election of circuit judge.
As some of you know, my family has been in business in the Elgin area since the 1920s, and I have lived all my adult life here except for college and law school. I have practiced law for 16 years before serving in all areas of the court system including four years as chief judge. My experience and knowledge of the qualifications that are necessary for a competent judge prompts this letter.
I sincerely believe that Patricia Piper Golden is the best candidate for the vacancy of the 2nd Subcircuit of the 16th Judicial Circuit of Kane County. She is a well-respected jurist with more than 12 years of judicial experience and rates in the 90 plus percent in approval ratings of every bar poll. Signs and campaigning cannot substitute for judicial experience.
John Noverini is not Gene Nottolini, as some voters have mistakenly thought. I am not running for this position.
Judge Patricia Piper Golden has proved her ability to serve without bias or prejudice and will follow the law. I have never seen her opponent in a courtroom in Kane County and the clerk's records indicate he has never filed an appearance in our court system.
The lack of any courtroom experience of Noverini should be of concern to the voters.
Gene Nottolini
Circuit judge (Ret.)
