Naperville man's remains found in Wis. state park
Authorities in Wisconsin say a badly decomposed body found in a state park 10 days ago is that of a 24-year-old Naperville man.
Dane County Coroner John Stanley said the investigation into what caused Quinton A. Morris' death is ongoing. He would not release details of any findings from an autopsy that was performed the day after the body was discovered.
A sheriff's department spokeswoman said investigators have not ruled out foul play.
Morris' family told authorities they last heard from him six weeks ago when he was on his way to Canada. He was not reported missing.
Stanley said his body was found about 50 to 60 feet from a bike trail in Lake Kegonsa State Park. The condition of the body indicated Morris had been dead for more than a month. Morris' body was found in his clothes and a backpack had been found nearby, according to a sheriff's office release.
Authorities said they made the initial identification through fingerprints. Morris had been arrested in May by Naperville police. Stanley said his office also will be performing dental comparisons now that family members have come forward.
Naperville Deputy Chief Kevin Kirk said his department found out about the investigation Monday when Wisconsin authorities contacted them. He was unsure if Morris was still a resident at the time of his death.
Kirk said authorities in Wisconsin told Naperville investigators Morris recently had sought employment in law enforcement in Arizona.
