Do you have a Great Pumpkin? Prove it
The Dundee Township Visitor's Center, 319 N. River St., East Dundee, is hosting its 10th annual Great Pumpkin Contest Saturday, Oct. 25.
Deadline for entry is noon on Saturday - judging will commence at noon for the Largest Pumpkin (by weight) and the Best Decorated or Carved Pumpkin. There also be a prize for kids 12 and under who want to carve and/or decorate a pumpkin. First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded for each category. Prizes include more than $1,000 of dollars worth of merchandise and gift certificates from area merchants and restaurants.
The contest is sponsored by the Dundee Township Visitor's Center, the Depot.
There is no fee to enter. Entries can be dropped of between 8 a.m. and noon on Saturday.
Oct. 25 also is the last Saturday of the season for the Old Dundee Farmer's Market, which takes place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday. The market features locally grown flowers and produce, baked goods, and a flea market with approximately 40 vendors each week. For more information, call (847) 426-2255.
