New assessments should reflect values
I had to recheck the date on the paper to see if by some chance I was reading an old newspaper. The title of the article was "Property values haven't fallen".
But to my amazement it said Monday, Oct. 6.
So my next thought was they have got to be kidding. I read the article and couldn't believe my eyes to the spin orchestrated by this article.
Why I ask that when property values go up we get reassessed on a yearly basis and when our values go down we get reassessed on a three-year basis. Why you ask, it's politics.
Those (taxing bodies) that receive this income are concerned that they will not be getting the revenue that they need to operate in the way they have been operating if property values keep decreasing.
It's manipulation once again.
Our family has experienced not only income stagnation, but also regression, our family has had to figure out how to live within our means, maybe it's time our government (schools included) live within theirs.
Property tax increases have squeezed the normal homeowner too much.
Taxpayers don't let government manipulate you, pick up a pen or the phone... let your voices be heard and let them know that your "Property values have fallen"!
