Wrigley names Petrovich new chief
Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. on Monday named a 30-year veteran to replace the chewing gum maker's first outside chief executive officer following its $23 billion purchase by Mars Inc. Chief Administrative Officer Dushan Petrovich, 55, was named president of Wrigley, overseeing the unit's global strategy, operations and business performance. Petrovich and Wrigley chairman Bill Wrigley Jr. will report to Paul S. Michaels, CEO of Mars. Petrovich replaces William D. Perez, 61, who was Wrigley's president and chief executive officer since 2006. Mars's purchase of Wrigley, completed on Oct. 6., gives the combined company the largest share of the world's candy market with 14.8 percent, according to data compiled by Euromonitor International.
