Give costumes second life at Geneva church

Got an extra Elmo lying around? How about Spiderman? Or, perhaps, Hannah Montana, a witch or a fireman or two?

Those Halloween costumes can be cost-prohibitive in this financially-challenging times, especially for folks already stretching their wallets to make ends meet. Meanwhile other people have extra costumes heading for the trash can.

Project Kids Treating Kids hopes to link the two and could use your help. If you have a new or used costume (no devils or violent costumes, please), consider donating it in the next couple of days.

If you'd like to donate or know of a need, contact the Moms in the Mission group at Rejoice! Lutheran Church church office at (630) 262-0596, e-mail gwgruber@sbcglobal.net or visit rejoiceinthemission.org.

Church members have costumes ranging from apes to dinosaurs and princesses ready to go.

Parents and kids can "shop" for costumes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Lazarus House, Third and Walnut streets, St. Charles; from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Salvation Army, 1710 S. Seventh Ave., St. Charles; and from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Tri-City Family Services, 1120 Randall Court, Geneva.
