Family Storytime: No registration is required for this drop-in program. Families of all ages can enjoy storytime together. Each session will feature stories, songs and activities. Pajamas are optional. The program is from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Nov. 4.
Project Vote!: This 30-minute presentation is available to third- through fifth-grade teachers in Geneva schools from today, Oct. 20, through Friday, Oct. 31. It is designed to help students understand the ideas behind the election process. The presentation will include book talks and an interactive activity. Adult book discussion groups: The Tuesday Evening Book Discussion group will discuss "Surveillance" by Jonathan Raban at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Halloween Hi-Jinx: Dave Herzog's Marionettes will perform from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in the meeting room. Mad Scientist Boris Von Puppenspeil, Scare E. Crow, Jack O. Lantern and others will present a "kooky, not too spooky" Halloween show complete with a trapeze, a tight rope, and roller blades. The artistry of this award-winning puppeteer has been described as "magical motion." Tickets are available.
Cake Decorating Techniques: Custom cake decorator Mark Seaman will demonstrate different cake decorating techniques for both the novice and crème de la crème of spatula-talented decorators at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22. Registration is required.
Tale Spinners: Kids in fourth grade and up, do you like to write short stories or draw? Have you dreamed of being published? Then Tale Spinners is for you. Each month, the group meets in Youth Services and uses library laptop computers to put together a newsletter called Jr. Journal. This publication is available in the library and at geneva.lib.il.us. The program continues from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 23 and Nov. 20, in the YS Program Room.
Library board meeting: The Geneva Public Library District board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in the meeting room. The public is welcome to attend. Minutes of past meetings and the current agenda can be found on the library Web site at geneva.lib.il.us.
Best of Broadway: Bill and Susan Goodman perform their entertaining musical review featuring legendary songs from numerous Broadway shows from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.
Cycling Sisters Bicycle Adventure: Sisters Evie Weber and Norma Witherbee, two senior travelers, journeyed by bicycle 2,100 miles following the route of the Underground Railroad. These amazing travelers will present an impressive photographic travelogue about the people and places they visited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29.
