Fire extinguished in Toronto

TORONTO - Rohan Ricketts scored 2 goals and Amado Guevara added 1 to lead Toronto FC to a 3-2 win over the Chicago Fire on Saturday.

Toronto FC kept alive its slim hopes of a postseason berth.

Justin Mapp and Cuauhtémoc Blanco scored for the Fire (12-10-7), which has already clinched a postseason berth.

With one game remaining, Toronto (9-12-8) has 35 points in 29 games, and is last in the Eastern Conference, but could still make the playoffs with a win in next Saturday's season finale against the San Jose Earthquakes, coupled with losses from the teams ahead of them in the standings.

Trailing 2-0, the Fire scored in the 25th minute when Mapp one-timed a left-footed shot past Toronto goalkeeper Greg Sutton from inside the 18-yard box. Blanco's goal, which made it 3-2, was his seventh of the season.
