Fahy an advocate for environment

I am already a fan of every firefighter everywhere, but my regard for one in particular, John Fahy, is at top level. In addition to his vocation of service, Fahy is a Kane County Forest Preserve board member from West Dundee who has fought many battles to ensure the environmental well being of Dundee Township. Some forest preserve parcels strongly lobbied for by him are Raceway Woods, the Brunner property and Jelke's Creek Forest Preserve, a smaller exquisite treasure of woods and wetlands.

People like him, who give freely of time and service on behalf of open space land protection, despite busy lives and demanding careers, should receive well-deserved recognition and appreciation from a grateful community.
