Baseball facility to host open house

LAKE ZURICH - Home run Sports & Fitness, 143 E. Main St., formerly Lakeside Sports, has a new owner. Todd Mueller of Kildeer is hosting an open house at his new Lake Zurich facility from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, to show the public what's available. The interior is being reconfigured to better accommodate long toss and infield training, along with batting tunnels and dirt pitching areas. Several instructors, including Mike Daughtry, who has worked with Lake Zurich High School baseball players and is longtime scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks, will be available at the event that's open to the public.
