Pension abuses show need for Con-Con

All voters should vote to approve a constitutional convention on the Nov. 4th ballot.

The State Worker Retirement Fund and Retirement Benefit plans are now about $90 billion, which is the highest of any state in the union.

The worst part of it is that this liability increases by over $3 billion per year just due to raises that are given to each recipient each year.

Where is this money going to come from?

Addressing this should be the absolute number one item addressed.

Leasing airports and tollways can only make a dent in the yearly increase of these funds for just one year - if all of the proceeds were applied to this!

If the voters knew of some of the individual pension and pension benefit amounts, they would probably not believe it.

Just one interesting item is that members of the Illinois House of Representatives receive a full pension after serving two 2 -year terms. Imagine getting this after serving just four years.

If all of our state representatives and senators really cared about the voters, they would have already advised their constituents to check the box for the constitutional convention.

Have you been advised of this by yours? Do not hold your breath.

Imagine how much health care, building of early learning centers, awarding scholarships, road building, and bridge repairs are not possible because of the above extreme excesses.

This super generosity for a select few is something one would expect in a third world country, not in America
