Dundee Twp. library to host CSI program

You're invited to watch as forensic evidence is "collected" and evaluated when the Dundee Township Public Library hosts "CSI: Dundee" at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20. The program features a Ken Pfoser, a forensics expert from the Northern Illinois Regional Crime Laboratory; Doug Cummings, a former law enforcement officer/crime reporter turned author, and Linda Mickey, a local mystery author. The crime-solvers will describe what happens once a dead body is discovered and explain the steps taken to further the investigation through the collection and testing of the physical evidence.

"Hugely popular crime dramas like CSI and NCIS have many people wondering how true-to-life the forensic science really is," said Linda Mickey, program moderator and author of the Kyle Shannon mystery series. "We take our audience through evidence handling procedures and describe how crime labs operate in Illinois."

The team will begin its discussion at the scene of the crime and invite the audience to accompany them as they proceed step-by-step through evidence collection and analysis in this interactive and entertaining program.

If you are interested in attending "CSI: Dundee", register in person, by phone at (847) 428-3661, ext. 308, or online at www.dundeelibrary.info. Seating is limited; register soon. The program is free and open to the public.

The library is at 555 Barrington Ave. in East Dundee.
