Bail denied teen charged as adult
Prosecutors say a Chicago teenager charged with murder in the death of an 8th grader warned the boy a few days before the shooting that he was on a "death list."
Friends and family say Sameere Conn stopped a store on Oct. 1, after playing football and was shot by a gunman who fired through a window.
Prosecutors said Sebastian Rodriguez fired the shots that also wounded a 27-year-old man.
During a bond hearing, Assistant State's Attorney Maria McCarthy said three days before the shooting, the defendant and another witness had a three-way phone conversation with the victim. She said Rodriguez told the victim he had a 'death list' with the victim's name on it.
Cook County Circuit Judge Raymond Myles denied bail Tuesday for Rodriguez, who is charged as an adult.
