Saluki coach suspends 2 players

CARBONDALE -- Two Southern Illinois University football players are suspended for the Salukis' next two games for violating unspecified team rules.

Coach Dale Lennon announced the suspensions of wide receiver Bryce Morris and inside linebacker Justin Thurston in a statement Monday.

The two will miss Saturday's game at Youngstown State in Ohio and the following game at Missouri State.

Both players have played in all of the games this season for the 3-and-2 Salukis.

Morris is a junior who's the team's second-leading receiver, with 13 catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Thurston has 11 tackles as a fifth-year senior.
