If you're really fed up, vote third party
Regarding the current financial meltdown, isn't it interesting how the die-hard Democrats and Republicans keep pointing fingers at each other while saying that it is the other party's fault?
Then they go on to ridicule the people who took out these subprime loans, saying they should have been aware of the risks.
Why did the bankers, who obviously knew of the risks, make these loans?
So now our trusted officials are boldly proclaiming that we need new laws to prevent this sort of thing from happening again.
But wait a minute. We had laws on the books that would have prevented this.
However, it was our trusted officials who removed these laws and then forced the banks to make these subprime loans. Of course we're not expected to remember that.
Meanwhile, they claimed that they were helping the little guy achieve the American dream of owning his own home and if just by chance this also bought them some votes, why, what harm is in that?
As we are finding out, with friends like this you don't need any enemies.
So with the election coming up, does it make sense to keep rewarding these politicians by re-electing them because presently they're now promising to fix the very problem that they created?
Or maybe, if you seriously want to see change, then it's time to seriously think about voting for one of the third parties.
