Visitation set for Marmion coach

Funeral services are set for an Aurora football coach killed in a car accident Tuesday in Campton Hills.

Visitation for Daniel J. Jackson, 25, of St. Charles, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Monday.

Relatives ask that anyone attending services dress casual and consider wearing a Cubs, Bears or Marmion Academy jersey in honor of the easygoing sports fanatic.

Jackson died about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when his car struck two trees and flipped over near Kings Mill Drive and Burlington Road. The accident remained under investigation Friday, said Campton Hills Police Chief Greg Anderson.

A 2001 graduate of Marmion Academy in Aurora, Jackson recently had returned to the Catholic school for boys to coach football. He still holds several records there in that sport, as well as baseball, according to an obituary.

Contributions to Marmion Academy are being accepted in memoriam of Jackson. For information, call (630) 584-0060 or visit yursfuneralhomes.com.
