Gas prices partly fault of our inaction
I am writing this to all of us Americans, media and politicians included, who are sitting back and watching the oil companies "rape and pillage" our economy.
Oil prices are hovering at $94 a barrel, and we are still a dollar higher than last year. When oil hit $140 a few weeks ago we were not much higher than now.
We all sit back and let these "thieves" dictate the rise due, at first, to the possibility that a hurricane will interrupt production, then even higher if it happens.
The oil companies are on a goal to hit $5 per gallon. We see a certain oil company had $17 billion profit in a quarter.
I've seen gas go up 26 cents in one day when oil spiked; but when it drops as much, the stations go down close to that ... but over many days. All pure profit.
We sit back and take all this not only from oil companies but many other instances in our life. It seems like we are all afraid to speak up, and that definitely includes our political leaders.
This is not a political letter, just from an American who is tired of our own actions, or lack thereof. I am as guilty of this as much as anyone, but I am getting fed up! So should we all.
