Cicero woman arrested in I-40 drug bust
FORREST CITY, Ark. _ Arkansas State Police say they arrested two people, including an Illinois woman, after finding about 200 pounds of marijuana inside their car.
Troopers say 22-year-old Victor Padilla of Texas and 20-year-old Maricela Guerrero of Cicero, Illinois, were arrested Monday after a routine traffic stop along Interstate 40 in eastern Arkansas.
A trooper reported smelling marijuana in the car and said the two gave conflicting stories.
Troopers say they found 50 pounds of marijuana stored inside luggage and another 150 pounds inside a false compartment in the car.
Both face charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were being held Tuesday in the St. Francis County jail on $100,000 bond.
