Is Palin privy to security secrets?

Left-wing liberal blogs have attacked Gov. Palin in many ways including her knowledge of security and leadership of a small national guard in a big state with few people. What could such a person know that would help protect the United States besides being able to see Russia on a clear day.

Well, I just read a letter in another paper regarding her military and security knowledge. It was written by a guy named William Burns, who is probably a conservative with a chip on his shoulder about this animosity blaring out on the liberal blogs.

I want to paraphrase what he wrote and ask if the media has knowledge of what he claims.

Supposedly, Alaska is the 1st line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is on permanent active duty. Also, there is the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.

As commander-in-chief, Governor Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to our country. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Joe Biden's and, therefore, certainly Barack Obama's.
