Performers sought for holiday family concert

The Downtown St. Charles Partnership is looking for musicians, dancers, actors and performers of all ages to participate in the free family concert presented as part of its annual Holiday Homecoming event. The concert will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29 at the historic Arcada Theatre. It is free and open to the public.

Coordinated by musical director Rob Murphy of St. Charles, this element of the award-winning Holiday Homecoming events is an opportunity to showcase talent from within our community and share in the spirit of song and holiday joy. The downtown partnership is seeking performance material that celebrates the season with traditional or modern favorites. Accepted performers should plan on being on stage for less than 10 minutes.

Anyone interested in participating in the family concert should contact Rob Murphy at (630) 377-4991 no later than Friday, Oct. 17. Auditions will be arranged as needed, by appointment, with Rob Murphy.

This year's holiday events will also include the traditional Lighting of the Lights ceremony at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 in Lincoln Park and the fully illuminated Electric Christmas Parade to be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29. Also included in the weekend festivities are a free holiday movie at the Arcada, strolling carolers, live ice sculpting, horse-drawn carriage rides and more.
