Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors

Everyone interested is welcome to celebrate the fall holidays with Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors. Whether you are Jewish or part of an interfaith family, and whether or not you are a member of a neighboring synagogue, come and spend time with your Jewish neighbors. The Break-the-Fast potluck from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at the Geneva History Center, 113 S. Third St. This is a family event, held at the end of Yom Kippur. Kids can play at FVJN, located next door at 121 S. Third St., where sitters will be provided.

RSVP to Nsohnworks@aol.com with how many of people are coming and what you will be bringing. FVJN will provide paper goods and desserts.

The "Sukkah Raising and Potluck Supper" will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12 in St. Charles.

Come help build a sukkah, beginning at 3 p.m. A potluck supper will start at 5 p.m. for builders and all guests who come later.

A sukkah is a temporary outdoor structure erected for the holiday of Sukkot, a Jewish pilgrimage festival held each autumn. The sukkah will also be available for visiting throughout the week. Visit fvjn.org for the exact location.

Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors is composed of Jewish individuals and interfaith families located in central Kane County and nearby towns. The goal of this group is to develop a cohesive Jewish community in the Fox Valley area for religious, charitable and educational purposes. For information, visit fvjn.org.
