Make character key in House 96 race

Dianne McGuire recently mailed out a campaign piece that associates her opponent, Darlene Senger, to back-alley abortions. Truly a vile piece of campaigning from the Democrats' candidate for the 96th House District.

This despicable mailer did not disclose McGuire's name. Not surprisingly, McGuire was involved in a similarly disgusting piece mailed to voters in 2007 during the school board elections.

Under the guise of a teachers union-funded organization called P.U.R.E. that she collaborated on to create, she sent a direct mail piece that stated the conservative school board candidates would outsource bus drivers who could be sex offenders.

And McGuire did not disclose her involvement with this sleazy ad campaign either.

Are you seeing a trend here? Putting political ideology aside for a moment, I think most 96th District residents would agree that retiring State Rep. Joe Dunn was a class act.

Let's hope the voters will make character and integrity crucial aspects to deciding who replaces Mr. Dunn in Springfield.
