Dying man tells fiancee he knew his assailant

Chicago police say a fatally wounded man from the city's Humboldt Park neighborhood told his fiancee he knew who shot him, but died before he could tell her the names of his assailants.

Thirty-two-year-old Gregory Jones was shot outside his home early Saturday as he was returning from an all-night card game. Officers said he was pronounced dead a short time later at Stroger Hospital of a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Before police arrived, Jones reportedly told his fiancee, Christina Millan, that he knew who shot him.

Witnesses told police that they had seen Jones talking with several people in a green van shortly before the shooting.
