Candidates and global warming

I've read a lot of letters to the editor lately endorsing either congressional candidate Melissa Bean or Steve Greenberg.

I've had the chance to meet both while they were on the campaign trail and have not made my choice.

With record flooding and soaring energy prices, my biggest concern is having a representative who is going to address global warming, create green jobs in our community and encourage legislation that invests in renewable energy like wind and solar.

While volunteering with Greenpeace, I've had the chance to ask both candidates their plan on global warming. Bean and Greenberg agreed to fill out the Congressional survey that will tell us where they stand on this critical issue.

So far, Greenberg has come through on his promise and filled out the survey. Bean has still not come through on her promise of filling out the global warming survey.

I would like a representative who will not only address global warming, but also be true to their word.

I hope that Bean will keep hers as Greenberg has done and show her voters exactly where she stands on global warming.
