Grill blamed for Naperville fire
A rear-deck barbecue grill was the source of a fire that caused about $35,000 in damage to a Naperville home Thursday night, officials said.
No injuries were reported from the incident. All of the home's residents had exited before Naperville firefighters arrived.
Firefighters were summoned to 28W117 Lakeview Road when fire began moving from the grill to the home's back wall. Fire officials received the 911 call from one of the home's residents at 7:37 p.m. Thursday.
Eleven Naperville units and 23 firefighters responded to the call. The main body of the fire was extinguished within 15 minutes of arrival.
Officials said the home was habitable after the fire.
