Already had enough of McCain, Palin
After watching news reports of the Republican convention (I could not bear to watch it) I am even more convinced that they are the party of lunatics. Let's start with McCain's V.P. choice, Sarah Palin. She is nothing more than a gun-toting right wing lunatic who does not believe in science, evolution and global warming. She thinks we should teach creationism in public schools and thinks the war in Iraq is a mission from God. Sounds just like George W. Bush, the worst president in the history of this country. Let's not even get into the fact that she is unqualified for the job. Just a few months ago she gave an interview and stated that she did not know what the vice president did. Did you ever read the constitution Sarah? It is spelled out right there. I guess the soccer mom never paid attention in school. What a surprise she was the pick.
Anyone who thinks she will appeal to Hillary's voters should get a CT scan. Just because she has the same anatomy does not mean intelligent women will be swayed to vote for someone who believes in the exact opposite of everything Hillary and the Democrats believe.
John McCain has nothing to offer this country that his buddy George W. has not already given us. Do we really want more of the last eight years? I am sick of hearing McCain and others referring to him as a war hero. Just because he was a P.O.W. does not make him a war hero. J.F.K., who saved a ship mate by swimming with him on his back for 6 hours to an island, was a war hero. Eisenhower, a 4 star general turned Supreme Allied Commander whose leadership and strategy helped win WW2, was a war hero. Just because you served your country as Mr. McCain did with honor does not make you a war hero or fit to be Commander in Chief. That seems to be McCain's answer for everything. "I was a P.O.W." So were a lot of people and that does not mean they should be President either.
If McCain is such a supporter of the military as he claims to be, where was his leadership when thousands of our troops came back from Iraq wounded to filthy rodent-filled barracks and could not get the care they needed? I guess it was OK to send them to war, just not to take care of them when they came back. That is not the response I would expect from a "war hero." This is a man who cannot keep track of who is fighting who in Iraq unless Sen. Lieberman is whispering the info in his ear. He does not even seem to know what countries border each other talking about the border between Iraq and Pakistan. There is a place in the middle that is called Iran. He should know this since he wants to bomb them too.
America cannot afford more of George Bushes' policies, which is what we will get with a McCain presidency. It is time to embrace peace, science the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution as written. It is time to make religion a private matter, not something we run the country by, as our founding father intended. Enough torture, enough lies, enough scandal and incompetence. Enough of the Republican Party.
