You can't scam Kane County sheriff

Kane County Sheriff Patrick B. Perez received a job offer he could refuse from a company claiming to be from the United Kingdom. In an e-mail released Wednesday from the sheriff's office, Perez was offered the "opportunity" to earn $2,000 to $3,000 per month part time as a U.S. representative from the bogus outfit. He also would have to process money order and check payments in his name, deduct a percentage of money to keep for himself and wire the rest back to the UK. Lt. Pat Gengler, a Kane County sheriff's office spokesman, said legitimate businesses don't solicit in such a manner. "It goes to show that these people do not discriminate or select individuals to whom they send (e-mails) out to," Gengler said. Perez was asked in the e-mail to disclose various personal information for the bogus job.
