Schaumburg Flyers fire manager Maddock

The Schaumburg Flyers have announced that Steve Maddock's tenure as the team's field manager has come to an end. Maddock managed the Flyers for two seasons in 2007 and 2008, with a total win-loss record of 69-123 and a last-place finish in 2008.

"Our record the last two seasons has been a disappointment, so we're looking to immediately turn things around," Flyers GM Ben Burke said. "We're committed to our fans and the community to field a championship-caliber team in 2009 and beyond."

The team is currently interviewing several experienced candidates, and an announcement naming the new field manager is expected sometime in October.
