Vote for those who mind the store
The recent article on our Arlington Heights Park District touting their construction of a new facility, spending $7 million at Pioneer Park all within budget; or rather they had a way to spend this money without coming to the voters for approval and then saying they must "fix" the other four park centers with community centers for which it will be necessary to go to the voters before they can proceed beyond an architect's site review.
This should have been defined before spending the aforementioned $7 million!
We as a community need a major change in the board to bring fiscal balance with the "High Taxation" rate the Park District now receives.
Strange that you voters are so blind to our municipal, village and park district expenditures, and still vote these persons into office.
Stranger still is that the same aspect is in Cook County, Illinois and Congress - where excessive earmarks bring more taxpayer debt. Now we are faced with federal incompetence encompassing near collapse of the housing loan system.
There is a need at all levels of government to bring conservative management into play so as not to spend more than what is budgeted; when the planned budget does not exceed anticipated tax revenue.
I plead with you to not only vote but vote for a conservative person who will not only stop these tax increases but reduce them. We are fortunate that our Presidents can only be in for two terms; this should apply to Congress, Legislature, county and municipal elected officials.
Wheeling Township is managing without those constant tax increases; let us look at their elected officials and see if they would/could fit into our other elected office positions to bring us back to reason.
I love my country, but Unions that drive a company into a financial hole, elected officials who approve expenditures that are not in the citizens' best interests are building our debt so great under the guise of giving you something are in fact making this nation, at all levels, aimed to sure bankruptcy.
