No news media bias? Let's get serious!
In response to Sept. 7 self-aggrandizing and whiny Our View editorial ("The politics of blaming the media") suggesting that the Republican Party's criticism of the media as biased against them is without merit and dangerous, I can only say, you can't be serious.
Approximately 75 percent of the media personnel in this country have a self-proclaimed liberal voting record. With that said, it's only human nature, albeit unethical, for some of them to advance their own ideology by purposely steering those naive enough who believe everything that's spoken or written.
The Daily Herald trying to absolve their profession from the charge of journalistic bias equates to Mayor Daley protecting his own profession from the charge of political corruption. We all know the duck adage. We all know Chicago politics.
As we approach Nov. 4th let's see if the Daily Herald will practice what they preach by not engaging in political candidate endorsements. After all, endorsements serve no purpose except to steer the voter. But on the contrary, I know what's coming.
