How can taxpayers control their money

Who do I vote for?

I am not a Democrat or a Republican, but I do know what I want from politicians. I don't want to hear candidates belittle each other or exaggerate the truth. I want to hear what they will actually do.

As a voter, I would vote for the candidate who endorsed the following. I want to see:

- A smaller government and less interference in my life.

- Less taxation by all levels of government. That includes income, property, capital gains, sales, death and interest income taxes. We pay far too many taxes and get nothing in return.

- Less government handouts, which includes welfare, illegal immigrants and tax breaks for many big businesses.

- A fully funded Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid with politicians' mandatory participation in both.

- Accountability by all elected officials with term limits.

It's a simple list of achievable things that would make my life more financially secure because I would be in charge of my money. They have continually squandered more than 60 percent of the money I paid in taxes.

It should be obvious that politicians can't spend money frugally nor do they have all the answers. Freddie Mac, Fannie May, Lehman Bros., AIG, etc. are examples of a Congress asleep at the wheel.

They certainly know how to take money from these lobbyists at our expense. I am still unsure which crooks to vote for.
