Police beat

Arlington Heights

• Someone stole $150 out of a wallet while owner was showering at a gym on the 900 block of West Dundee Road, around 12:45 p.m. Sept. 20.

• A purse was stolen out of an unlocked 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt in an office lot on the 3300 block of North Arlington Heights Road, between 4:30 and 6 a.m. Sept. 21.

• A 2005 Hyundai on the 2100 block of East Sherwood Road was vandalized around 9:50 p.m. Sept. 20. A damage estimate was not available.

• A 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer on the 4200 block of North Salem Avenue was vandalized between 9 a.m. and noon Sept. 18. Nothing appeared missing; a damage estimate was not available.

Rolling Meadows

• Brian C. Spjuth, 21, 2702 Cardinal Drive, Rolling Meadows, and Matthew A. Kavanagh, 19, 304 N. Salem Drive, Arlington Heights, were arrested around 11:30 p.m. Sept. 15 and charged with burglary to auto after witnesses saw them trying to steal items out of vehicles on the 2400 block of Maple Lane. The witnesses held them until officers arrived, police said; their court date is Oct. 8. Christopher J. Dreksler, 20, 4702 Carr St., Rolling Meadows, was also arrested after officers discovered that he had been drinking alcohol with Spjuth and Kavanagh earlier in the evening;. He was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor; his court date is Oct. 22.
