• The 1843 Duran House Museum's Autumn Frolic features a tasting of antique apples varieties from the 19th century from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at the LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve on Dean Street, west of St. Charles. Chicago Botanic Garden

• The Bulb Bazaar sponsored by the Woman's Board of the Chicago Horticultural Society features more than 200 varieties for sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, and Sunday, Oct. 3. A special member's preview is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3.

• The Central States Dahlia Society Show is from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28.

Morton Arboretum

• The Fall Color Festival is through Sunday, Oct. 26. The festival features an appearance by rock star Marty Casey, a 5K Run and Walk and more activities.

• The annual bulb sale features nearly 150 varieties of tulips, daffodils and more. The sale is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28. A Fall Garden Marketplace is also from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• The Chicago chapter of Ikebana International hosts an exhibit and demonstration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5.
