Former alderman's aide convicted of fraud
A former Chicago city employee was found guilty of scheming with former Alderman Arenda Troutman to squeeze developers for payoffs and campaign money as well as lying to federal agents.
Steven Boone, who was an administrative assistant in Troutman's office, was acquitted Friday of two other charges that he took bribes from a developer who wanted zoning and other favors from Troutman.
Boone denied taking the payoffs.
Troutman has pleaded guilty to corruption charges and is awaiting her sentence.
At the trial, Black Disciples leader Donnell "Scandalous" Jehan testified that he had a romantic relationship with the former alderman.
