More women come forward in Lindenhurst massage assault
More women have come forward claiming they have been in contact with a massage therapist who is accused of sexually assaulting a Lindenhurst girl in her home Sunday, authorities said.
Lindenhurst Police Cmdr. Kevin Klahs said the department and the Lake County sheriff's office have received other victim complaints regarding the man.
"We are investigating at least two other complaints besides the girl from Sunday," he said. "Investigators are tracking all leads and tips in the case, so hopefully we will come up with a resolution real soon."
He added Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran has opened up county resources to help expedite the arrest.
"Working with the county sheriff should help speed up the investigation," Klahs said.
Sunday's attack occurred about noon in a bedroom in the girl's home. Her name had been entered in a contest at a local salon for a free in-home massage, police said.
The girl is a teenager, but police declined to release her age.
The girl yelled for help when she was assaulted, police said, and her grandmother came to the room. The assailant then gathered his massage equipment and drove away, police said.
Police described the attacker as being in his 30s and about 5 feet 6 inches tall. He had black hair and bulging eyes, police said, and his first name may be "Bin" or "Ben."
He was seen driving a newer, silver Toyota Camry, police said.
Police are concerned the assailant may have placed notices for free massages at other salons in the area. Anyone with information about the attack should call Lindenhurst police at (847) 356-5400.
