Three charged in Elgin stabbing

Elgin police arrested three men Sunday on charges stemming from an altercation that ended with two men stabbed in the back on the city's east side.

Abraham Perez, 19, whose last known address was 428 Addison St., Elgin, Jose L. Lopez, 19, whose last known address was 435 Addison St., Elgin and Ivan Rodriguez, 19, whose last known address was 407 Campus Drive, Elgin, each face two counts of felony aggravated battery and one count of mod action in connection with the incident on the 500 block of Page Avenue.

Police said the victims, a 47-year-old man and a 43-year-old man, were stabbed when a verbal dispute turned physical. Police had no information about what started the fight.

After the stabbing, police said, the three suspects ran into a home at 585 Page Street to change clothes and clean up.

Police said they found a bloodied knife in the back yard of the Page Avenue address.

The older victim was treated and released for a single stab wound Sunday, police said. The condition of the other man, who suffered multiple stab wounds, was not available Tuesday.
