Dump truck overturns on Stevenson

Traffic on the Stevenson Expressway outbound near Maywood was reduced to a crawl Monday after a dump truck loaded with gravel overturned at the First Avenue on-ramp, officials said.

The truck flipped over on the ramp leading to I-55 southbound lanes and remained there for about three hours, officials said. It had to be dragged off the ramp and out of the way by towing companies.

Illinois State Police officials said no one was hurt in the accident, but that gravel was dumped onto I-55.

The scene was finally cleaned up at about 9:10 a.m., officials said.

Police said no one was injured in the crash.
