Cappas, Rockets shatter records

The Burlington Central boys golf team just keeps breaking records - and now an individual player has joined the party.

For the third time in the last week, the Rockets shattered their team school record Monday, shooting a 144 at Green Tree in DeKalb, 44 shots better than their Big Northern East opponent Stillman Valley.

BC's Peter Cappas also broke the individual school record, shooting a 4-under par 31. He finished his round with an eagle and a birdie. Sam Schmalz added a 36, Matt Allison had a 38, and Dave Hartwell a 39 for the Rockets (8-1, 7-0).

"It seems like every day these boys accomplish another amazing feat," said BC coach Brody Hamel. "If we stay this hot we could really do some damage this postseason."
