In your honor, JoeVernon Hills resident Joe Boyle, foreground, was honored by 25 friends with a park bench donated in his honor. Joe has Lou Gehrig's disease and walks at Deerpath Park. John Wesley, third from left, helped organize the bench dedication. It's located on a paved path just east of Deerpath Drive and Sullivan Drive in Vernon Hills. Boyle has been walking the path every day, weather permitting, for 26 years and always stops to talk to people in their backyards along the way, said neighbors who attended the dedication. The "Joe Boyle Fan Club" raised enough money to buy the bench, as well as enough to donate a tree.
