Palin must respond to the media
In less than two months we will be voting in the most important election in modern memory. With such critical issues as health care, the environment, the economy, and the Iraq war at stake, we need to be able to assess the candidates' views. But one candidate is missing in action. Sarah Palin has disappeared and is not taking any questions from the media. This election is much too important for all of us to make our choices based on what the McCain campaign is telling us about their vice presidential candidate. She needs to stand up to the tough questioning of the media. She needs to make her views clear on a range of issues that are important to all of us. We cannot be expected to have her a heartbeat away from the presidency without hearing her answers to tough questions. And tough questions from all quarters. Word is that the campaign has consented to an interview with ABC News, but this is not enough. We've lived through 8 years of secrecy from the Bush-Cheney team, and this secrecy has undoubtedly contributed to the degradation of our country. The Republicans have lost our trust, and we will not accept the myth of Sarah Palin as truth. She needs to prove that she's worthy of being the president by answering questions from the media now. Nothing less is acceptable.
