Evidence abounds of liberal bias in media

Oh, come on Daily Herald!

Taking the Republicans to task for berating the media for their liberal bias? What liberal bias you say?

Even the editorial by the professor from Roosevelt University (juxtaposed on the same page as yours) noted "a fawning media" as one of Obama's advantages over McCain.

For years now, survey after survey of journalists has shown the overwhelming majority of them to be Democrats. For decades, whenever Lexis-Nexis searches are done comparing the number of positive reports versus negative of Republicans versus Democrats, the results consistently show a significant bias in favor of Democrats.

Compare the breadth and depth of the media's coverage of Obama and his association with people like Ayers, Wright, Rezko, and Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, versus their coverage of Palin's pregnant daughter! Judging by the media frenzy, one would be left to believe the news of Palin's daughter was the defining issue of the campaign.

Editorials proclaiming objectivity don't change the fact that political ideology clearly affects the decisions of "supposedly" nonpartisan organizations like school boards and newspapers.

The Herald endorsed Kerry in 2004. I wonder who it will be in 2008?
