Briefs: Pizza dough for school
Orlando's Pizza, 821 E. State St., Geneva, will donate a portion of the proceeds raised from all orders on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 4 p.m. to closing, to Harrison Street Elementary School PTO in Geneva. This applies to all orders from the evening, whether dine-in or carryout.
Golf event canceled, dinner is Saturday
Due to recent flooding, the Wounded Soldier Fundraiser golf outing scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20 at Bliss Creek Golf Course in Sugar Grove has been canceled. However, dinner, the Honey Bears show, raffles and the silent auction will take place at American Legion Post 489, 9054 State Route 34 in Yorkville. Special guests Jennifer Carlisle (Miss Illinois) and the two soldiers being honored, Lt. Terrance J. Peterson of Warrenville and TSgt. Israel Del Toro Jr. of Naperville will be present.
Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner is at 6:30 p.m. The Honey Bears will perform after dinner. Tickets are $30 at the door for dinner and the show, and $10 at the door at 7 p.m. for the show only.

Donate to pantry
More than 150 volunteers from nine Batavia churches and the Batavia Lions Club will join Jewel and Amstadt's food stores in Batavia to help restock the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry Friday, Sept. 19 to Sunday, Sept. 21. Volunteers in red aprons will pass out lists of items that the food pantry needs to shoppers entering the stores and will collect the food items that the shoppers will donate to the food pantry. Containers for money donations will also be available. The food pantry serves 500 to 600 people each month. Food donations may also be dropped off at the food pantry, 100 Flinn Drive, two blocks south of Wilson Street. Food pantry hours are 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to noon Friday.
Township brush pickup
St. Charles Township brush pickup dates are Sept. 22, Oct. 14 and Nov. 3. Unincorporated St. Charles residents should call the township road district office at (630) 584-3496 the Friday before each pickup and leave their address if they have brush to be picked up.
