Rockets set school record

Finishing with a combined 150 strokes at the par 35 Green Tree Golf Course in DeKalb, the Burlington Central boys golf team set a new school record, surpassing a 151 finish in 2006. Sophomores Matt Allison and Luke Fleming each came in with season-low scores as Allison shot a medalist round 34. Fleming and teammate Sam Schmalz each shot a 37 and teammate David Hartwell shot a 42.

"Sam continues to show consistency in the mid to upper 30s," said coach Brody Hamel.

Burlington improves to 5-1 on the season and 4-0 in Big Northern action.

"We have been consistently in the upper 150s and lower 160s," said Hamel. "It feels great to see the boys having so much success."
