No follow-through on threats against Perry Elementary School

The Carpentersville elementary school that received threatening calls last week welcomed students and staff Monday with increased security as police continued to investigate the origin of the calls.

Perry Elementary School received two threatening phone messages - one at the school itself and another at a satellite site of the Dundee Township Boys and Girls Club located on the school campus, school officials announced Saturday.

In one of the messages, police said, Monday, Sept. 15 was specifically referenced.

It is not known how many students stayed home because of the threat. Representatives from the police department and Perry did not return calls for comment.

In a statement Monday, police said the department worked with Community Unit District 300 over the weekend and into Monday to ensure the safety of students and faculty.

The police department, the release states, will continue to provide the school with additional police presence and resources.

Police ask anyone with information to call (847) 551-3481.
