Murphy went to bat, now so will she
Recently, I read a newspaper article about state Sen. Matt Murphy's effort to cut Todd Stroger's sales tax.
The price of gasoline is outrageous, food prices are on the rise, and prescription medicine is not getting any cheaper. On top of all that, Cook County thought it would be a good idea to raise the cost to us even more with the new sales tax. I'm thankful that someone like Matt Murphy is here to make sure that people like me (a senior) are represented.
The sales tax increase was a bad idea. Most of the politicians in Cook County don't care to spend our tax dollars wisely, but I believe that Matt Murphy actually cares about the people who live in Cook County. Someone like Matt Murphy who is willing to stand up for people like me is going to get my support in the November election!
