John McCain and audacity of action

The author of "The Audacity of Hope" in his first major decision turns to an old party hack, a predictable insider to be his running mate.

McCain stuns everyone by picking another independent and a woman.

Now, this has become interesting.

I know exactly what to expect from an Obama-Biden victory.

Obama '08 will complete the second term the American people denied Carter in 1980. More government, higher taxes and economic stagnation are not new. It is not change. We've been there, done that and it simply does not work.

McCain has been chastised by his own party for his independent streak.

The author of "the surge" was right, and Obama is, well, still playing word games.

McCain's selection of Palin is a masterstroke. Critics will compare her inexperience to Barack's but there is no disputing this simple fact: Palin has been running the state she was elected to govern when Barack was once again been running for his next office.

He still has zero, none, nada, zilch executive experience.

A cult of personality is not going to win this election, ideas will. It's now after Labor Day and we are all paying attention.

So far, audacity in action belongs to McCain.
