Hats off to residents at Colonial complex

I am happy to see another positive note on the front page of your 8/25/08 edition ("Working Hard at Being Good Neighbors"). As a former bus driver for Forest View Alternative School and the former Northwest Suburban Academy, I am familiar with the Colonial subdivision and other "difficult" areas in Wheeling and Mount Prospect.

It is truly uplifting to hear about grass roots efforts of residents working to improve things on their own. Our police officers have the job of maintaining law and order, but exemplary efforts such as those at Colonial make things better for us all.

Hats off to the good neighbors at Colonial and the Daily Herald for letting us know about them.
