The Alice Gustafson School PTO in Batavia is seeking sellers for its Gently Used Children's Clothing and Toy Resale Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19 and 20. The sale features all-season infant through teen clothing, maternity wear, baby equipment and furniture, shoes, uniforms, sporting goods, costumes, books, games, videos and toys. Learn about perennials
Wasco Nursery & Garden Center will raise money for Lazarus House with a seminar on perennials from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 20 at 41W781 Route 64, west of St. Charles. The seminar will feature Laurie McGhee of Bailey Nursery, a slide show presentation and lessons about perennial color combinations, among other topics. Children's chorus members needed
The Elgin Children's Chorus is looking for new members ages seven to 16. Chorus members come from more than 55 different schools in 18 school districts. Holiday show at Sears Centre
The Elgin Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Showcase returns Dec. 6 to the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates for one night only. The 7:30 p.m. event will feature the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, live performances by Cirque du Soleil entertainers, Olympic ice dancers, and a chorus of hundreds.
